Here's an overview of the Controls and signs commonly seen at a rally.

Stage Start

	TIME CONTROL ZONE START Yellow clock face sign Competitors enter on proper minute.
	TIME CONTROL / ARRIVAL TIME CONTROL ("TC" / "ATC") Red clock face sign Competitors check in and get "Arrival Time" and "Ideal Start Time" assigned by control workers. + 100ft / 25m from yellow clock face sign
	START TIME CONTROL ("STC") Red furled flag sign Competitors check in and get "Actual Start Time" assigned by control workers. Cars start on assigned minute. + 200ft / 50m from yellow clock face sign
	END CONTROL ZONE Beige sign with cross bars Cars may not service between yellow clock face sign and this sign. + 100ft / 25m from yellow clock face sign

Stage Finish

	TIME CONTROL ZONE START Yellow checkered flag sign Approaching Flying Finish.
	FLYING FINISH Red checkered flag sign Time recorded by control workers as cars pass. + 400ft / 100m from yellow checkered flag sign
	FINISH TIME CONTROL ("FTC") Red stop sign Competitors check in and get "Finish Time" assigned by control workers. + 400-1200ft / 100-300m from red checkered flag sign
	END CONTROL ZONE Beige sign with cross bars Cars may not service between yellow checkered flag sign and this sign. + 100ft / 25m from red stop sign

Service Area

	SERVICE AREA START Green wrench sign Start of service area. Designated area to work on cars.
	SERVICE AREA END Black wrench sign with cross bars End of service area.

Fueling Area

	FUELING AREA START Gas pump sign Start of fueling area.
	FUELING AREA END Gas pump sign with cross bars End of fueling area.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL ASSISTANCE LOCATION
Blue cross sign
EMT location. Manditory at stage start. Additional EMT's may be located along very long stages.

RADIO LOCATION
Blue jagged arrow sign
HAM radio operator location. Manditory at stage start and stage finish locations. Typically at stage blockage locations.
